An Egyptian archaeologist has discovered the location of a new pyramid, after spending months meticulous studying the Saqqara desert.
Archaeologists believe that the ancient wall probably belongs to one of the ancient pyramids. The structure was discovered in Saqqara’s cemetery, not far from Djoser’s, which is said to be 4,700 years old. Archaeologist Zakaria Ghoneim found it in 1951 when looking for unspoiled remains.
“It may be supposed that, since the building as been utilized as a quarry in later centuries, its presence was known until a fairly recent date,” Goneim wrote in his book “The Lost Pyramid” (Rinehart & Company, 1956). Fortunately, I could ascertain that the monument had been unaltered for at least 3,000 years. My workers discovered more burials during the excavations, the earliest of which dated from the Nineteenth Dynasty (1349-1197 B.C. ). And some of which were found lying undisturbed above the buried pyramid themselves proved that huмbeen eyes had not seen the walls we had uncovered since that distant epoch.

An unmarked, rough-cut room had a large, translucent alabaster sarcophagus in its center. We approached in awe and soon realized it was not marked or broken.

The lid was in good condition, and archaeologists created space around the coffin. They found an empty coffin. They had excavated for 3 months before stopping due to the heat.
An ancient evil spirit might have been imprisoned in the coffin, because when Ghoneim went back to work at the gallery several items were found and he could not answer the puzzle. While trying to solve it, Gone became cursed, drowning himself in the Nile.
Goneim calculated the age of the pyramid to be 4700 years old. The “wreath” atop the coffin was 800 years older than the pyramid, which means Egyptians abandoned its construction and left it unfinished. No one knows exactly why they did this and there are a few different theories.
Experts still feel mystified by the interior of the pyramids. They are a maze and only a snake could know how to navigate them. Nehebkau, a judicial deity from ancient Egypt, can transform into a snake.
In 1963, Jean-Philippe Lauer started a research project by looking into the potential of a possible tomb on the south side of Djoser’s Step Pyramid. He also tried to figure out what had happened to the missing mummy.
Kurt Lauer discovered the foundation for The Buried Pyramid, which is located beneath an older mastaba. Within this tomb he found the remnants of a wooden coffin with gold leaf fragments, as well as fragments from Dynasty III objects. Robbers had taken advantage of the discovery to take goods. Lauer also proved that gone’s Theory that the pyramid was never completed due to an enlargement of the wall.
